Who is biogas unite?

We are Pan-African and international biogas entrepreneurs of a growing professional movement united by one goal: making biogas accessible across Africa.

We refuse to accept that clean cooking is a matter of charity – it’s an economic opportunity that makes sense for businesses, governments, and households alike. Biogas is a clean, renewable, and affordable energy source, yet its potential remains largely untapped. This is what we aim to change.

We are taking action: fixing broken systems, scaling up new installations, and creating a thriving, private sector-driven biogas market. We are advocating for fair competition, pushing for CO₂ compensation models that actually benefit local communities, and ensuring that biogas becomes a profitable, self-sustaining industry.

What is our aim as an organization?

BiogasUnite is on a mission to make biogas a fully bankable business and a mass technology that reaches its full potential across Africa. With over 100,000 biogas systems installed under National Biogas Programs, too many remain non-functional due to a lack of reliable customer service and maintenance. We are changing that by building a strong service network to ensure every system works – and keeps working.

Biogas is not just an energy source; it’s an income-generating technology that improves lives. Repairing broken digesters costs a fraction of new installations, and the impact is immediate. Repair is the first step!

Our vision is to turn biogas into a thriving market, where investment flows, businesses grow, and clean cooking becomes the new standard – for hundreds of millions of households!
